The Deck 5 "Lanai" provides shaded outdoor seating for the restaurants, but also a nice place to sit and relax in the daytime. The Serenity Deck, on Deck 15, is only open to adults 21 and older. Here, there are padded loungers as well as clamshell beds (first come, first served) and also tables and chairs. Just below on Deck 12 is SportsSquare, a colorful area with Twister, pool, bean bag toss and other games, encircled by a mini-golf course. The SportsSquare Clubhouse brings some of these games indoors, as well.

Walking toward the back of the ship, you will pass Library Bar -- it's a closed-off and comfortable space for reading, card play and games; a number of board games are available for free loan. There's actually no bar, but there are enomatic (self-serve) wine dispensers if you want to enjoy a glass of merlot while you lounge. I enjoy pool deck parties and waterslides and joining a trivia challenge, but I also really appreciate taking time out to simply enjoy an ocean view for a few quiet hours on my own. For the evening specialty upcharge options, the Smokehouse charges a la carte, so a guest could spend anywhere between $10 for finger foods to closer to $30 for apps and an entrée. I especially loved being able to load my burger with as many or as little fixings as I pleased. I was a big fan of the incredible variety of dining included with our base cruise fare. My friend's cabin was on the second floor, while mine was on the third.

This two-lane bike course suspended high above the ship is a complimentary activity that allows you to pedal around the ship while enjoying the bird’s eye views. This is certainly an activity that you won’t find on any other cruise line. Of course, you can also challenge yourself at the SkyGreens mini-golf course or the SkyCourse with a series of rope courses. Certainly, there are plenty of ways to get in a workout while still enjoying the Mexican sun on Carnival Panorama. For example, with the Havana staterooms, you get easy access to a private, Havana guest-only bar and pool (do note that all Havana guests must be at least 12 years of age or older). Then, with Cloud 9 staterooms, you get special amenities related to the Cloud 9 spa.
My favorite way to spend the evening is in the Liquid Lounge, where three times each week a different stage production includes popular music and a dance team. It can be tough to secure a deck chair beside the pool on sea days, but I've never seen a line form to enter the pool or thought it felt overcrowded once inside. I have booked a variety of cabin sizes on the Carnival Panorama, but I find an entry-level inside stateroom offers enough space and amenities, and choosing one is the best way to trim my overall budget. I particularly enjoy Carnival's "welcome aboard" deck parties, which are a beloved tradition on embarkation day and I feel the excitement of cruising from the moment I step onboard the Panorama. I'm always a bit amazed that this is a free activity aboard Panorama, as it seems like something that would have a separate fee, especially since guests can go on this ride as many times as they like. While we focused on complimentary dining throughout our cruise, near the end of our trip, we decided to have a special night out at Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. We indulged in surf and turf, an amazing wine selection, and unlimited appetizers and side dishes, and dessert.
Plus, there is even a specialty drink menu to help you let loose, laugh it up, and have a great time. During our cruise, there were two comedians that rotated shows during the first half of the cruise and two brand new comedians for the second half of the cruise. Deluxe ocean views are a little better, but the décor is still slightly lacking; think a lot of beige wallpaper. The Family Harbor and Cloud 9 ocean view staterooms are really where you’ll find the best experiences.

The Tides Pool is at the back of the Lido deck and I find it tends to have a quieter vibe compared to the deck party atmosphere midship. My first Panorama cruise since the shutdown took place in September 2021 and I got a little teary-eyed when the ship's officers and captain lined the atrium steps to welcome guests back on board. I recently sailed on Panorama with a friend, though I've also cruised solo and with my spouse. Here's why I love this budget-friendly vacation and keep coming back.
